Our Certificate Apostille Procedures
Process 1: Without Verification
Documents Required:
- Original Certificate
- Photocopy of Passport
Procedure:
- Submission of the certificate to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) for authentication.
- The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) provides the Apostille.
Duration: 2 Working Days
Note: This process does not involve document content verification. The MEA will include a seal stating, “THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONTENT.”
Process 2: With Verification
Documents Required:
- Original Certificate
- Photocopy of Passport
Procedure:
- Authentication of the certificate by the SDM.
- The MEA provides the Apostille after verifying the content.
Duration: 3 Working Days
Note: This process ensures content verification, and the MEA does not include the disclaimer regarding responsibility for content.
Process 3: State-Level Authentication
Documents Required:
- Original Certificate
- Photocopy of Passport
Procedure:
- Authentication of the document by the relevant state authority (HRD, SHD, or SDM).
- The MEA provides the Apostille.
Duration: 10 to 15 Working Days
Details:
- Documents such as educational certificates are authenticated by the Human Resource Department (HRD).
- Personal documents like birth or marriage certificates are processed by the State Home Department (SHD).
- Commercial documents may require authentication from the Chamber of Commerce.
